Bird watching is gaining popularity in Havelock as awareness increases about the rich diversity of endemic birds on the island. Discover these fine feathered beauties as you embark on a guided tour!
A total of 280 species of birds are found in Andaman and Nicobar islands belonging to 56 families under 17 orders. Out of these 280 species, 105 are endemic at species and sub-species level.

About The Tour
Bird watching is the observation of live wild birds in their natural habitat using optical aids, such as binoculars, without harming them.

Tip: When you want to take a break from bird watching, we can arrange a picnic basket for a memorable picnic in the woods. Picnic basket has to be booked in advance at an additional cost.
- Trip duration: 3-4 hours
- Start time: 5:00 AM (recommended)
- Meet and greet at the meeting point
- Trek to spot the feathered beauties
Note: Remember to bring your binoculars and camera to capture memories that you cherish forever.

Attire
To protect yourself from sunburns and avoid insect bites, wear:
- A cap
- A pair of comfortable shoes
- Light colored cotton clothes (full sleeves and full pants)
- Sunscreen lotion
- Suitable insect repellent – try it before hand to ensure that you are not allergic
Fitness
- You must be fit enough to walk up to 200 metres at a stretch to be able to do this activity.
- You may have to do a a bit of scrambling-up steep inclines. Your guide assists you while negotiating the trickier sections.
When To Visit
The best time to visit Havelock for birding is between October and April.
